Our Story

At J. Co. Outfitters, we believe in the beauty and resilience of handcrafted leather goods, a passion rooted in the heartwarming memories of childhood. Our journey began as a tribute to family heritage and the lessons learned from generations of ranchers, farmers, and miners. Inspired by the memory of sitting by a wood-burning stove with my Mamaw, sewing pelts, the dream of creating handmade leather products has been a lifelong aspiration.

A Tribute to Family

The creation of J. Co. Outfitters was sparked by a personal tragedy but grew into a heartfelt endeavor. After the passing of my brother Andy, I was motivated to transform his shirts into cherished keepsakes for my family. This process ignited a love for crafting that has persisted throughout my diverse career spanning over 30 years across various industries. By combining personal experiences and the wisdom imparted by my family, I have been able to pursue a lifelong passion.

  • As soon as I saw the cowgirl jackets in Jen's shop, I knew I'd want one; it's just a question of which one. Jen is so kind and great to work with! Am so happy with my choice--the cropped silhouette is perfect for the wide pants look now. The jacket is thoughtfully-(re)designed and well-(re)made. The cowhide patches and the hand-applied chain stitchings add so much fun and texture. There are many reworked jean jackets out there but I haven't seen any as classy and chic.
